What a wonderful place that we find ourselves when we understand that we are safe in the Master’s arms. Knowing this, it should be easy to keep our eyes “fixed” on Jesus. However, that is often not the case when we are surrounded by life’s daily struggles and challenges. The Bible teaches us how to shift our focus, by having the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5).
Hebrews 12:2 reminds us to “Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.” So what does He mean when He says “keep your eyes fixed?” You must know that regardless of how big you think your issue is, God is greater than what is happening in your life. He is the Source and He will supply you with the resources that you need to fulfill His purposes and the plan that He has for your life. You must be sure of your foundation. Jesus IS the foundation.
I remember this song that says “When everything else fails, I can go to the Rock!” Jesus is the Rock of our salvation and our foundation is in Him. We can rest in His promises because He is not a man that He should lie. What He has promised, He is also able to perform. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
